Gomoa Easter Carnival Day 2 Delights; Day 3 Set for Star-Studded Showdown

Day 2 of the Gomoa Easter Carnival at Gomoa Ekwamkrom Community Park lit up the night with iconic performances from Samini, Ofori Amponsah, and Kwabena Kwabena, delivering high-energy reggae, highlife, and soulful classics that captivated the crowd. Contemporary and traditional highlife acts, including Kofi Nti, Dada Hafco, Bless, and K.K. Fosu, alongside the folk-inspired Kwan Pa Band, ensured a celebration rooted in Gomoa culture.

The festival went beyond music, featuring:

Health & Wellness: Free screenings benefiting hundreds of residents.

Food Bazaar: A mix of traditional Gomoa delicacies and modern Ghanaian street food.

Fashion & Culture: Showcases of local textiles and cultural displays.

Sports: Youth competitions fostering community engagement.

 

Day 3 promises an even bigger spectacle with a vibrant blend of traditional and modern culture:

Masquerade Procession: From Gomoa Obuasi to Ekwamkrom, featuring chiefs in palanquins, drumming, and dancing.

Street Culture: Live street painting and the high-energy ‘Street Anthem’ and Afrobeat concert.

Star-Studded Lineup: Sarkodie, Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, Bisa Kdei, Tinny, Keche, and Sista Afia.

Activities: Tennis tournaments, fashion showcases, and health screenings continue.

Organisers, led by Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus) and powered by Multimedia Group Limited, emphasise the festival’s growing importance for cultural tourism, local economic activity, and community engagement in the Central Region. Day 3 is set to cement the carnival as a must-attend event on Ghana’s festive calendar.
