Former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is reportedly receiving medical attention following an alleged shooting incident that occurred near the residence of her younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, also known as Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
Reports suggest the incident happened on Sunday at the residence where Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena was meeting supporters as part of ongoing discussions around the succession of the late Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo as leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
According to sources, police from the Dome District Command were called to the scene after tensions reportedly escalated. Eyewitnesses claim armed individuals fired shots at the former MP’s vehicle during the disturbance.
Unverified accounts indicate that several rounds were fired, with one bullet allegedly grazing her neck. She is said to have been taken to a medical facility and is currently in stable condition.
The incident is believed to be linked to an internal dispute over leadership succession within the Kristo Asafo Mission following the death of its founder.
While investigations are expected, the Ghana Police Service has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, and the exact circumstances remain unclear.
