Ghana’s Black Stars are scheduled to depart for Kansas City, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 1, as preparations intensify for their Round of 32 encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will take on Colombia on Friday, July 3, in a crucial knockout-stage fixture as they seek a place in the next round of the competition.
Following the conclusion of the group stage, head coach Carlos Queiroz gave the players a rest day on Monday to recover and recharge ahead of the upcoming challenge.
The team is expected to return to training on Tuesday, with both morning and evening sessions scheduled at Bryant University near Smithfield. Preparations will continue with another training session on Wednesday morning before the squad travels to Kansas City later that day.
Ghana secured qualification for the knockout stage after finishing among the tournament’s best third-placed teams. The Black Stars ended their Group L campaign with four points, finishing behind England national football team and Croatia national football team, who finished first and second in the group respectively.
With a place in the next round at stake, the Black Stars will be aiming to continue their World Cup journey with a strong performance against Colombia.
