Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George has publicly called for the immediate dismissal of a Ghana Armed Forces officer, Lieutenant Albert Goh, following an alleged incident of military misconduct and high-handedness in the Ningo-Prampram constituency.
In a widely circulated public confrontation in the Afienya area, the minister strongly rebuked Lieutenant Goh—citing his specific military ID number—after the officer allegedly led armed soldiers into the community to seize trucks from citizens without lawful authorization or due process. Eyewitness reports and video footage indicate that the situation escalated when the military detachment reportedly disrespected a senior police officer (a Chief Superintendent) attempting to intervene, with soldiers allegedly drawing weapons during the altercation.
Expressing deep outrage, Mr. George condemned the actions as a severe breach of professional conduct and an unacceptable abuse of state authority against civilians. He formally appealed to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to strip the lieutenant of his commission and dismiss him from the armed forces, warning that such rogue actions bring the military into disrepute and undermine civil-military cooperation.
