The Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Organisation Committee, Anthony Karbo, has dismissed assertions that the party’s upcoming national executive elections will produce a slate of officers aligned with flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Addressing concerns over factionalism ahead of the scheduled polls in Kumasi, Karbo insisted that delegates must evaluate aspirants based strictly on competence, track record, and organizational capacity rather than perceived personal proximity to the flagbearer. He emphasized that the primary responsibility of newly elected party officers will be to build an efficient operational machinery capable of driving the party’s broader political agenda, rather than serving individual interests within the organization.
Karbo further disclosed that the party leadership has taken direct control of delegates’ accommodation and feeding arrangements to ensure a fair, transparent process and prevent candidate-led “camping” ahead of the vote. He reaffirmed that all cleared aspirants across the nine national officer categories stand on equal footing as the party prepares for a unified election.
