President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi to take part in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level France–Africa partnership meeting hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The summit has brought together African Heads of State, global business leaders and international partners to deepen cooperation on sustainable development and economic resilience.
President Mahama, who also serves as African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, is expected to join a high-level discussion on green industrialisation and energy transition aimed at promoting Africa’s industrial growth while addressing climate change challenges.
He will also participate in a working lunch focused on reforms to the international financial architecture, with discussions centred on improving Africa’s access to sustainable financing and building a fairer global financial system.
As part of his engagements, he will co-chair a roundtable on health under the theme “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems,” linked to his Accra Reset Initiative.
On the sidelines of the summit, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and IFAD President Alvaro Lario to discuss global cooperation, economic stability and food security.
He is expected to return to Accra on Tuesday evening.
