Ephraim Sincero Ma-c Saawa, a seven-foot-tall resident of Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality, is aspiring to channel his exceptional stature into a professional career on the basketball court and earn a spot on Ghana’s national basketball team.
The recent graduate of Abakrampa Senior High School—where he was officially recognized as the tallest student on campus—transitioned from playing volleyball in basic school to basketball. Despite facing structural challenges during his secondary education, including the lack of a dedicated basketball court at his school, Saawa maintained his ambition to master the sport. Drawing inspiration from NBA star Victor Wembanyama, he actively works to hone his athletic abilities and defensive techniques while seeking access to proper training equipment and athletic kits.
Beyond his sporting ambitions, Saawa navigates daily practical constraints associated with his height, from local public transit difficulties in standard trotros to constant public attention in his community. Currently working at a local printing press, he is also preparing to pursue a university degree in Computer Science, aiming to become a software engineer alongside his athletic pursuits.
