The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced that the payment of outstanding
arrears owed to some education and health sector workers, dating back to August 2024, is now underway.
In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the Department explained that the
arrears will be paid over a four-month period, with beneficiaries receiving payments in instalments covering four
months at a time.
According to the schedule outlined by CAGD, workers will receive four months of arrears in May 2026, another
four months in June, four more in July, and the final four months in August 2026.
The Department noted that the first batch of payments is expected to be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026. It
added that all remaining payments will be made according to the approved timetable until the arrears are fully
settled.
CAGD also thanked the affected workers for their patience and cooperation during the process.
