In a press release dated May 2, the Institute indicated that approximately 620,000 candidates are expected to participate in this year’s exams, describing the period as a significant milestone in their academic journey.
FMI emphasized that basic education plays a vital role in shaping students’ futures and highlighted the importance of support from government, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders. According to the Institute, creating a supportive learning environment is essential to ensure that all students, regardless of their background or location, have equal opportunities to succeed.
However, the Institute expressed worry over what it sees as the increasing acceptance of examination malpractice. It warned that such practices threaten the integrity of Ghana’s education system and compromise the accurate evaluation of students’ abilities.
FMI therefore urged invigilators, supervisors, and security officials to stay alert and take firm action against any form of malpractice during the exams.
It also advised candidates to stay focused, remain confident, and avoid engaging in any dishonest behavior, encouraging them instead to uphold integrity and work diligently toward success.
